Where you been?

My Brother and his family hosted Christmas this year.

I spent most of Christmas and New Year watching DVD's

I met up with Vanessa in December. I hadn't seen her in almost a year. I didn't realise how much I missed her company.

Just before my birthday I was driving along with my Mom and found the board game Dream Phone dumped on the side of the road. I've wanted this game since I was a kid. I've often try and buy one on ebay but always get outbid. Thanks random stranger who dumps shit on the street!

Working at HMV is rad but sometimes I have to do the 7am shift which fucking kills me. It's still fucking dark.

In the run up to my birthday I worked on my party playlist

For my birthday I went to Bodeans, which is the best place in London to eat epic amounts of meat.

Afterwards we went to a bar I had booked. We partied. It was amazing. Everyone was there

I woke up with only a mild hangover which was rad cause the Sunday was actual birthday.

I got some choice media.

That evening I met up with my boy Hazem and we went to our favourite Caribbean Restaurant One Stop.
Mutton curry with rice is the shit!

We then headed down to The Prince Charles Cinema - the coolest cinema in London.

They were showing Cape Fear (1991).

I took Cat to the Ben Rayner exhibition.

His new band Throwing Up (which features my friend Clare on bass) played their first gig at the event.

It was all over real quick so we wondered around.

Working in Central London is sweet - but expensive. I find myself meeting up with Hazem, spending loads of  money on eating great food and going to the cinema.

My friend Kate is amazing. She visits me on my lunch breaks. We always eat at HK Diner which is the damn finest Chinese Restaurant in  all of China Town.

I went to the Larry Clark gallery opening.

I met Larry we was soooooo nice. This was a huge deal for me.

The place was crazy packed.

I met up with some friends outside and we got drunk and then went for food.

Bodeans for burgers.

As I ordered they offered me to 'double up' for £2 extra. The burger was fucking ridiculous. I did my math I ate 1 POUND OF BEEF.

Gavin was in town for the Crispin Glover film/slide show event. Easily the weirdest fuckin night out ever. I found Crispins film about about a a a 62-year-old man with cerebral palsy whose fetish for women with long hair drives him to murder them once they decide to cut it just nasty and exploitive. If you know me - you know I love challenging, progressive and extreme cinema but this was wrong.

Gavin wanted to get his book signed and his photo taken.

He was so involved in telling us to add his Facebook page he fucked up Gavin's inscription. Gavin paid £30 for the set of  books and he couldn't even take the care and attention to sign it right.  Crispin is a fuckin D-BAG!

I went to see Warpaint.

It was the most mellow, mediative gig I've seen in years. So nice.

I took Vanessa.

Since Kate is always coming to visit me for lunch. I paid her back with Tate, NFT and eats.

Me and some BFF's went to see Aziz Ansari perform.
Best night out in soooooo long.

I met him after the show. FUCK YOU LARRY!

My friends from work took me for an Indian meal. Afterwards the waiter offered us a free shot of his home made chili vodka. THE MOST FUCKIN INSANELY HOT DRINK IN THE WORLD. THIS SHIT WAS SO FUCKIN HOT. IT TOOK US 15MIN TO RECOVER FROM HALF A SHOT. REAL TALK.

It was my friend Scott's birthday.

He got soooo wasted we couldn't even talk. I spent the night talking to Lali instead.

I've been hanging out with Vanessa alot.

We went to Franco Manca in Brixton. We both agreed it's the best pizza we've ever eaten.

After we went to the Jamie Shovlin exhibition. His new show is based around a fake horror/exploitation movie called 'Hiker Meat'. He's made fake posters, scripts, props and costumes. Set over 3 floors he's got a ton of TV a playing clips from old cheap horror movies which when watched in sequence play out Hiker Meat the movie. This exhibition was so awesome, even the gallery itself  was creepy, it  looked like something out of Switchblade Romance (2003).

After the exhibition  we sat in the park

I met up with Dan - My work BFF. We went to Rough Trade to get the free Radiohead newspaper that was being given away. They had this cool old fashioned news paper stand.

I was really happy I managed to get a paper. I thought they'd all be sold out. The next day I found out hours earlier Thom Yorke was handing out the papers - FML

Dan &  I went to Viet Grill. The beef brisket was sooo good.

We then met Vanessa at The Old Blue Last and went to see Tearist perform.

Later in the week Vanessa and I went to see the new Gregg Arraki movie KABOOM.
The movie was so US.

After we hung out on the Southbank and took some photos.

My friend from work had a spare Interpol ticket. I heart free shows.

Cat took me to see a screening of Performance (1970) It's still the most intense, weird and dark British film ever made.

I caught up with Matt & Jane. We went  for Burgers at Byron. I think they serve the best burgers I've ever tasted.

After food we went to Garlic & Shots. Downstairs in the bar there's a cave with a coffin for a table.

I heart Matt & Jane. These guys are my geek buddies we can talk  movies and music allll night.

Garlic & Shots serve "blood shots" which are vodka, tomato, garlic, chili and spices. They will fuck you up but nothing compared to toxic chili vodka.

The night was awesome. Hazem joined us and I bumped into Aldene, she's fashion editor for Vice Magazine  I haven't seen in years.
I found the photo of when we we met back in 08

I Caught up with Aisha. We haven't hung in so long. Were both so busy. I love the fact no matter how long it's been since we've seen each other were always cool. We ate at Byron...again.

I went to see J. Mascis perform. He did so many amazing Dinosaur Jr songs. He performed 'Get Me' which is my favorite Dino Jr song.  I got teary eyed.

Along with CDs, DVDs, books, gig tickets Dr Pepper, getting drunk and eating awesome food I'm now obsessed with  buying socks. This is my summer pallet.

My friend Liam was having a moving out party. This was one of the most cray nights out in a long while
The weather was amazing that evening.

Hazem, Dan & I decided to go to Franco Manca before the party. Dan had never been he left saying it was the best pizza he ever had.

Starter: meat platter.

Main: Chorizo & Mozzarella Pizza

Desert: Lemon & lime and grape sorbet. I thought I'd get 2 scoops not 2 separate deserts  like a fat kid.

The party was wild. Everyone was there.

Dan queuing up some jams

I hadn't seen Mark in so long.

For the last few hours we just played R&B and Hip Hop.

Just before we got chucked out I bust out the running man for R. Kelly's VIBE.

My playlist:

Ciara -Ride (Ft. Ludacris)

We all left and went to the park to continue partying.

I got home at 6am. The next afternoon we met up for food at the Diner.

The pancakes were so good.

One of my best friends Amos surprised us all this month saying he's getting married to his girlfriend Adriana.

These guys are so keut together. I'm really happy for them. And their wedding outfits fuckin crushed it!
